Common Conditions

Today taijiquan ( tie-jee-chuan, often just called Tai Chi) is more often practised for health than for self defense, thanks to the fact that it is basically a very enjoyable, relaxing exercise that is also very social. Many of our students get the greatest benefits from relaxing and problem-solving together.

Unlike aerobics and most forms of modern Western exercise, Tai Chi teaches you how to achieve robust health through correct body alignments and low impact movements, based most importantly on the 70% Rule. The internal health aspects of Qigong (pronounced chee gong) practised with Tai Chi relieves physical, emotional and mental tension and stress and paves the way to self-healing, reducing your dependence on the overburdened health service. We believe Tai Chi is safe for people of all ages and levels of fitness.
